This pen and watercolor composite sketch by Skip Rohde depicts former Buncombe County reserve Sheriff Guy Penland as he stands by his attorney after his May 2008 conviction for extortion under color of law, conspiracy and money laundering. Skip Rohde (currently serving in Afghanistan) is one of the occasional artists (like K. Rudin) who are pressed into service by the media.
